A group of friends who regularly convene inside of the walls of a neighborhood bar in Reading, Pennsylvania share a bond stronger than the liquor they drink. But when the steel mill they all work at offers a promotion to one of them while also laying off long time employees in favor of non union immigrant workers for less money, tensions begin to rise. The bar, which was once an escape from the hardships of working class life, now showcases the conflicts which threaten to break the relationships that formed within it.

Much of the process focused on character study and it was here that my love for abstract exploration in the rehearsal room was born. We first formed the hearts of these people, dissected and reconstructed in our bodies their brains, then endowed our bodies with their movements. Heart, mind, flesh. From this process came my belief that until we dive into the depths of the souls of the characters we wish to bring to life on stage, we cannot honor them as fully formed human beings.
